FAQs

What is microsuction ear wax removal?

Microsuction uses a tiny medical suction device, combined with a microscope or loupes, to gently remove ear wax under direct vision. No water is used, making it suitable for patients with perforated eardrums or a history of ear surgery.

Does microsuction hurt?

No — most patients find it painless. You'll hear the suction, which can sound loud because it's close to your eardrum, but the procedure itself is comfortable and usually takes a few minutes per ear.

Is microsuction safe?

Yes. It's considered the safest method of ear wax removal and is the technique used in NHS ENT clinics. Because we work under direct vision the risk of injury is very low.

How much does microsuction cost?

Our flat fee is £85 for both ears, including the otoscopic examination, treatment and aftercare. No extra charge for home visits within our service area.
