Bringing Professional Ear Care to Care Homes
As our loved ones get older, hearing well can make a real difference to quality of life. But getting to appointments isn't always easy. That's why I believe professional ear care should come to them.
I visit care homes to provide gentle, professional ear assessments and, when appropriate, safe earwax removal. Every appointment begins with a careful look at the ear and eardrum. If anything needs further investigation, I always recommend referral to a GP or an ENT specialist.
The advantages of mobile ear care mean no stressful journeys, no waiting rooms, and residents can receive care in familiar surroundings, which can feel much less daunting. I take time with every resident. Some may feel anxious, others just appreciate someone who listens and explains each step.
For care home staff, having regular visits can reduce the need to organise off-site appointments for earwax issues.
For me, visiting care homes is about more than just earwax. It's about helping people stay connected to the everyday conversations and little joyful moments that make such a difference. Inspired by my own family's experiences, I want to make healthcare more accessible, kinder and gentler.
It's a privilege to be welcomed into care homes and trusted to care for the hearing of those who have cared for others all their lives. Every visit reminds me why I chose this profession and why bringing healthcare to people, instead of asking them to come to us, can make such a meaningful difference.
Arrange visits for your care home
Care home managers, staff and families can book a visit or get in touch to discuss regular appointments for residents.
